Juniors to compete in six World Cups, and World Championships in Sigulda

Atlanta (RWH)  The artificial ice track in Sigulda, Latvia, is set to host the 32nd Junior World Championships staged by the International Luge Federation (FIL) from 4-5 February 2017. The next generation of lugers will also compete in six World Cup events. The FIL Executive Board ratified the calendar at its spring meeting in Atlanta (USA).

The Olympic track in Calgary, Canada, will host two Junior World Cups in the first week of December as the season gets underway. After the Christmas break, the World Cup moves on to Innsbruck, Austria (14 and 15 January 2017) and Oberhof, Germany (21 and 22 January 2017). Following the championship battle in Latvia, the young athletes will turn their attention to the two remaining World Cups in Altenberg (Germany) from 11-12 February 2017 and Winterberg (Germany) on 18 and 19 February 2017.
