Kimberley McRae announces retirement

Calgary (RWH) Canada’s Kimberley McRae has announced her official retirement. Best result ever of the 27-year-old was bronze at the 2017 World Championships of the International Luge Federation (FIL) at Innsbruck-Igls, Austria. She also finished  twice fifth place in the 2014 and 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi (RUS) and PyeongChang (KOR). In the future Kimberley McRae will work as a nurse.

After the retirement of McRae, only Tristan Walker-Justin Snith are left competing as members of the “Golden Generation” of Luge Canada. Alex Gough, 2018 bronze medallist in PyeongChang, and Sam Edney, with Gough and Walker-Snith member of the team relay, who won Olympic silver, had finished their careers already last year.
