Winterberg (pps) The reigning European champions, Germany?s Sylke Otto and Austria?s Markus Prock and the US doubles, Mark Grimmette-Brian Martin look like the possible overall winners prior to the finale of the Krombacher Challenge Cup at Winterberg on Friday, January 25.
The women?s World champion won all three previous events at Calgary, Koenigssee and Sigulda and heads the overall rankings with maximum points (300). In the men?s event, Prock leads with 260 points from Germany?s three-time Olympic champion Georg Hackl (217) and Italy?s World champion Armin Zoeggeler (210).
Though Germany?s World champions, André Florschuetz and Torsten Wustlich, still head the doubles? rankings with 200 points, Americans Grimmette-Martin (186), Canada?s Chris Moffat-Eric Pothier (176) and Austria?s Tobias and Markus Schiegl (170) have the best chances for the overall victory because Florschuetz-Wustlich are only the third-best German doubles in the Viessmann World Cup and will not compete at Winterberg.
