Kühtai is the new host of the World Cup opening of luge on natural track from 11th to 14th December. The tyrolean winter sport destination replaces Hochfügen. Austrian Luge Federation decided the replace due to the upcoming weather conditions. „Due to the snow conditions it was necessary to place the event in Kühtai. It is more work but Kühtai is very active to make the track perfect. The athletes don’t really have to adjust their settings. The tracks in Hochfügen and Kühtai will be quite similar due to their same topography and difficulty“, explains Reinhard Poller, secretary general of the Austrian Luge Federation. First race of the GRM Group Luge World Cup on Natural Track will be held as scheduled. Kühtai will organize a parallel race. Final runs are scheduled on Sunday.
