Kühtai welcomes the athletes

NB-Einsitzer

Kühtai (PMA) - FIL Luge World Cup on Natural Track 2015/16 starts with a parallel race. As in 2014 the race is hosted in Austria. Kühtai is the hot and top spot for the athletes of the natural track. At the moment they all meet there to prepare themselves for the first race of the season. On Sunday, 6th of December, the International Training Week starts at Kühtai. Beside the parallel track the Local Organization Committee prepared a training track.

Athletes from Austria and Italy have already done some runs at the course in the middle of the snowy landscape. “You have to get a feeling for sledge again. For me it took only one run. I’m ready for the first race”, states Thomas Kammerlander. The Austrian wants to exert pressure on ten-time Overall World Cup winner Patrick Pigneter from Italy.

Beside the core countries Austria and Italy a lot of nations have arrived at Kühtai. The International training group of Karl Flacher is ready for the first runs. “I’m curious how my athletes have developed in summer. The training week is very important because my athletes have to gain experience on the icy tracks”, describes the head coach.

World Cup starts from 11th to 13th December. The track is ready and the finish line is in the middle of the centre of Kühtai.
