The FIL Luge World Cup on natural track begins with a double World Cup. The kick-off of the 2020/2021 World Cup season, which was canceled due to lack of snow in Kühtai (AUT), will be rescheduled in Winterleiten (AUT).

Winner at Winterleiten in January 2020: Michael Scheikl (AUT)
The World Cup opening planned for December 10th - 13th in Kühtai had to be canceled due to lack of snow. The International Luge Federation FIL has now decided that the race will be held on Thursday, December 17th, on the Winterleiten. Winterleiten will thus experience a double World Cup, because the scheduled races will follow on Friday, December 18 (women’s single and doubles) and Saturday, December 19 (men’s single and team competition). The eliminator planned for Kühtai (formerly pursuit) is not part of the program.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic all races will take place without spectators, but the races will be broadcast on the livestream at the FIL homepage www.fil-luge.org.
