Lanthaler secures fifth World Cup win
Vatra Dornei (PMA) - Evelin Lanthaler carried off her fifth career World Cup victory at the track "Bucovina" in Romania. She won the qualification run on Saturday with an advantage of 75 hundredths ahead of Austrian Tina Unterberger. This was the big foundation for her win on Sunday.
Unterberger had a good run and set the pace on Sunday, but Lanthaler scored the fastest time of the day and won the event. Third place went to last year's Overall World Cup winner Ekaterina Lavrentyeva from Russia. Greta Pinggera missed the podium finish at her birthday and ended fourth. Michelle Diepold took the fifth place, which is the best career result for the young Austrian so far.
Next World Cup race is hosted in Moscow from 22nd to 25th January.
