Winterberg (pps) Last year, the Viessmann Luge World Cup was concluded at Winterberg, Germany, with a novelty: In the doubles, Germany’s Olympic champions Patric Leitner and Alexander Resch and the Olympic silver medallists, Mark Grimmette and Brian Martin, of the United States, finished in joint first position with the same time. Grimmette-Martin won the overall World Cup by just nine points. In the men’s single, Germany’s three-time Olympic champion Georg Hackl achieved his eighth victory at Winterberg since his first World title in 1989. And in the women’s event, Germany’s Olympia champion Sylke Otto gained her fourth victory at Winterberg.
