Innsbruck-Igls (pps) In the end, a mere seven thousandths of a second tipped the scales: This was the winning margin of Germany’s David Moeller in February 2007 when he claimed the second World Championship title of his career, thereby defeating two-time Olympic and fivetime World champion Armin Zoeggeler of Italy. Germany’s Tatjana Huefner won the women’s single and her team-mates Patric Leitner-Alexander Resch claimed their fourth World Championship gold medal in the double-seater.

At the World Championship rehearsal in the 2005-2006 season, the winners of the last Viessmann Luge World Cup on the track at the foot of the Patscherkofel Mountain were Silke Kraushaar-Pielach of Germany in the women’s single, Italy’s Armin Zoeggeler in the men’s single and Leitner-Resch in the double-seater. In the past years, Innsbruck-Igls has organised a total of 25 Viessmann Luge World Cup events and is currently holding second position on the FIL ranking of record venues.
