Elina Ieva Vitola, Sigulda 2023

“I was so nervous before the start. Everyone else on the team won their races this weekend and I was really scared that I wouldn't hit the touch pad and cost them another victory. The pressure was huge and I'm so happy that everything worked out," Elina Ieva Vitola explained happily.”

Martins Rubenis, long-time coach and Olympic medalist for Latvia, was pleased. “The success is based on teamwork. All athletes, mechanics and support staff contributed to the success and that makes me very proud. Next week everything starts all over again, but I hope we can repeat the successes. We will celebrate, but not too much, as we still have a lot of work to do.”
