Altenberg (pps) Germany’s Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch, who finished just 11th at the World Championships in Oberhof, are back. The pair celebrated at the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Altenberg (GER) their 31st Victory and are still the record winning double. They won in a total time of one minute 24.467 seconds followed by Austria’s Wolfgang Linger/Andreas Linger (0,047 seconds back). Third place went to Germany’s Tobias Wendl/Tobis Arlt (0,132 seconds back).
The first heat was a festival of track records. The old record of Sebastian Schmidt/André Forker (42,257) was beaten three times. First Leitner/Resch set a new track record (42,250), than Linger/Linger 42,226) and at least Wendl/Arlt with 42,109 seconds.
