Sigulda (RWH) Patric Leitner and Alexander Resch of Germany are currently the most successful doubles team ever in the World Championships organized by the International Luge Federation (FIL). The 2002 Olympic Champions won World Championship gold four times in the course of their career, as well as one silver and one bronze medal. Stefan Krausse and Jan Behrendt (GDR/GER) also have four World Championship gold medals to their name, but the two-time Olympic Champions (1992 and 1998) only have one silver medal to add to their score. In the run-up to the 45th FIL World Championships in Sigulda, Latvia (February 14-15, 2015), the defending champions Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt are currently in 16th place in the career medals list, and the best of all duos still active in the sport.
