Altenberg (pps) Sylke Otto, David Möller and Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch are the 2007 German champions in luge. At the national championships in Altenberg, the 2002 Olympic champions in doubles won ahead of the titleholders Sebastian Schmidt/Andre Forker (Altenberg) and the Junior World Champions Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt (Berchtesgaden). The Olympic silver medalists Andre Florschütz/Torsten Wustlich (Oberhof/Oberwiesenthal) only made it to rank four.

In the women’s competition, two-time Olympic champion Sylke Otto (Oberwiesenthal) won for the third time after 2003 and 2005 ahead of the Olympic bronze medalist Tatjana Hüfner (Oberwiesenthal) and 1998 Olympic champion Silke Kraushaar-Pielach.
In men’s singles, the former World Champion David Möller was successful in defending his title. Denis Geppert (Oberwiesenthal) finished second ahead of Jan Eichhorn (Oberhof).
