Winterberg (pps) Local hero Martini will return to the artificially-iced track in Winterberg to participate in the Viessmann Luge World Cup next weekend. At the fifth stop of the World Cup in Koenigssee local hero Steffi Sieger, two-times overall winner in the junior World Cup, was given the chance to start and with her eventual third place she capitalised ideally on this opportunity.

Corinna Martini as the fourth-best German women's luger and currently on sixth position on the overall World Cup ranking failed to qualify for the Olympic Games. Corinna Martini and Steffi Sieger will both represent the German colours at the FIL European Luge Championships in Sigulda, Latvia (January 23-24) in three weeks time.
