Altenberg (pps) Local heroes Sebastian Schmidt/Andre Forker have won the Viessmann Luge World cup on their home track at Altenberg (GER). They celebrated their second World Cup victory after their success at lake Placid last year. In the first run they set a new track in 42,257 seconds and won in a total time of one minute 24,616 seconds. Second place went to Italy’s Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber (1:24,710) followed by Olympic Champions Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (1.24,742). In the overall standings Oberstolz Gruber (245) are in the lead followed by Leitner/Resch (240) and Austria’s Tobias Schiegl/Markus Schiegl (215). Canada’s Chris Moffat/Mike Moffat finished on 8th place, Mark Grimmette/Brian Martin on 10th place.
