Winterberg (pps) Showing a strong performance and setting a track record in the second run, David Moeller won the Viessmann Luge World Cup event on the luge and bobsleigh track in Winterberg, the seventh stop of the World Cup series. Felix Loch is still leading the overall Viessmann Luge World Cup rankings with now 600 points to his credit. Loch’s compatriots Moeller (498) and Andi Langenhan (485) are on second and third place, respectively.
The eighth of the nine stops of the Viessmann Luge World Cup will be carried out after the 44th FIL Luge World Championships in Lake Placid in the U.S. state of New York on February 8- 9, 2013.
Quotes
David Moeller (GER / Olympic silver medalist, 2004 and 2007 World Champion) “
Under the motto ‘there’s no fox as an old fox‘ I really seem to be on a roll. And it’s getting better. After two World Championships without a medal I would be happy to get onto the podium again. To be honest – Armin would have fully deserved the victory today.”
Felix Loch (GER / 2010 Olympic Champion, 2008, 2009 and 2012 World Champion, 2013 European Champion)
“The result is okay. With the upcoming World Championships in mind I did some experiments in the first and second run.”
Armin Zoeggeler (ITA / two-time Olympic Champion, six-time World Champion)
“I botched entering the kreisel. And with such a mistake you simply can’t win a race – even though a victory was a strong possibility.”
