69,000 tickets out of 75,000 have been sold

Salt Lake City (fil-press). The bobsleigh and luge track at the Olympic Games 2002 in Salt Lake City (February 8-24, 2002) proofs to be a big success. For the three decisions in the sport of luge they already sold 69,000 out of 75,000 tickets, according to information by the Organizing Committee (SLOC).
All 15,600 tickets for the decision in the men’s luge competition on February 11, 2002 as well as for the decision in the doubles competition on February 15, 2002 have been sold. As per June 7, 2001, 90 per cent of the tickets for the 1st and 2nd runs of the women on February 12 have been sold. For the women’s decision on February 13, a quarter of the total amount of tickets is still available. 80 per sent of the tickets for the men’s 1st and 2nd runs on February 10, 2002 have been sold. The artificial track in Utah Olympic Park in Park City, about 20 miles away from the olympic village in Salt Lake City, contains place for 15.600 spectators, including 3.600 seats. This track has a total lengh of 1,675.5 meters. The men’s start is located at an ocean level of 2,235 meters.
