Sochi (pps) Due to the inclusion of the Team Relay event within the program of the Olympic Winter Games, the number of competition days has been increased. For the first time at the Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, the decisions of the International Luge Federation (FIL) will be carried out on six competition days.

Traditionally, the men’s singles competition is the first Olympic event. On February 8-9, 2014 (start at 18:30 hrs local time/15:30 CET respectively) the medal winners will be determined after four runs. The four runs of the women’s singles will be carried out on February 10 (start at 18:45 hrs/15:45 hrs CET) and February 11 (start at 18:30 local time/15:30 hrs CET) while the doubles event will be staged on February 12 (18:15 hrs local time/15:15 hrs CET) in two runs.

The première of the Team Relay event will conclude the Olympic luge events on February 13 (as of 17:15 hrs local time/17:15 hrs CET)
