Luge Track in Sigulda (LAT) popular for training

Sigulda (FIL) The following countries have applied for a luge training course in Sigulda (Latvia) in autumn: Germany, Austria, Sweden, Italy, Poland, Great Britain, Australia, Czech Republic, Russia, France, Hungary, Belgium and the FIL Group. The trainings are scheduled for the period from October 5 to November 15, 2020.

In the meantime, Latvia's national regulations for training and competition stays have been finalized. Accordingly, there is no quarantine for sports teams. However, foreign athletes, coaches and sports officials entering Latvia from a country that is subject to special precautions due to a high number of confirmed COVID-19 cases must present a document that they have undergone two laboratory tests for the diagnosis of COVID-19 and both diagnostic test results are negative.

The list of risk countries subject to these regulations can also be viewed on the website of Latvian Center for Disease Prevention and Control. 

When entering Latvia, a document must be presented that a current laboratory test for the diagnosis of COVID-19 has given a negative result. This test must have been performed at least three days before arrival in Latvia. The second test should be performed one day after arrival in Latvia.

If a foreign athlete stays in Latvia for more than five days due to his/her participation in an international sports event, a third COVID-19 test is required.
Tests for COVID-19 could be performed in Sigulda, but the number of persons to be tested should be announced in advance, so that the date of arrival and the number of persons to be tested can be determined. If the patient is not a citizen or holder of a residence permit and does not show symptoms of Covid-19, the test costs 59 EUR. In case of symptoms the test is free of charge.
