Madeleine Egle, Kivlenieks and Putins-Marcinkevics Winner of Nationscup

Altenberg (RWH) The Nation’s Cup in Altenberg was won by Austria’s Madeleine Egle,  Inars Kivlenieks from Latvia and the double of Kristens Putins-Imants Marcinkevics (LAT). At the qualifying races for the Viessmann Luge World Cup on Saturday and Sunday (January 11, 12), Madeleine Egle, Bronze Medallist with Austria’s Team-Relay, relegated Latvia’s Eliza Cauze, Ulla Zirne and Kendija Aparjode to second, third and fourth place.

In men’s race, behind Kivlenieks Germany’s Sebastian Bley finished on second place. Third place went to Maksim Aravin from Russia.

 In double’s race second and third place was captured by Hannes Orlamünder-Paul Gubitz (GER) and Emanuel Rieder-Simon Kainzwaldner (ITA).  As additional starters Orlamünder/Gubitz are not allowed to compete in Viessmann World Cup. The women’s double of Marie Köhler-Leonie Kloß, also additional starters, finished on 14th place among a field of 16 pairs.
