FIL Commissions meetings held in St. Leonhard
St.Leonhard (pps) The competition schedule for the upcoming season, the integration of the Team Relay competition after its inclusion by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the Olympic program, the construction of a new track in the future Olympic city Sochi (RUS) and other technical details were all items on the agendas of this year’s annual meetings of the two expert commissions (sport and technical affairs) of the International Luge Federation (FIL).
About 50 participants from 14 different countries discussed these and other issues in St. Leonhard near Salzburg this past weekend (April 9/10, 2011). These were the first meetings of the FIL expert groups in their new line-up after the elections held at the 58th FIL Congress in Sochi in June 2010. Participants in the meetings also included 12 members of the FIL Executive Board.
In natural track luge, many issues were discussed as well, including the evaluation of the past season, the 2011/2012 competition schedule, prospects for the future, and the improvement of competition formats.
