Mark Hatton completes Korean coaching staff for 2018 Olympic Games

Mark Hatton

PyeongChang (RWH) Olympic host nation Korea has added the finishing touches to its team of luge coaching staff. Briton Mark Hatton completes the crew led by head coach Steffen Sartor. Sartor, himself a previous two-time silver medallist with doubles partner Steffen Wöller, announced the appointment of Hatton, who competed in two Olympics (2002 and 2006), in PyeongChang. Hatton managed the luge competitions at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada.

Prior to recruiting Hatton, Korea had already boosted its training staff by appointing Germany’s André Lange, the most successful bobsleigh pilot of all time, who has four Olympic victories and eight World Championship titles to his name. Robert Fegg, who came fourth in the 1999 World Championships in the singles, has already been part of Korea’s coaching team for some time.
