Winterberg (pps) Georg Hackl and the doubles team Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch might win a significant amount of money even before going to the Olympics. At the Krombacher Challenge Cup final in Winterberg on January 25, 2002, the three-time Olympic champion as well as the two-time World and European Champions have the chance to hit the Krombacher Jackpot amounting to US$ 10,000.- offered by the International Luge Federation and its marketing agency KirchSport.
Hackl and his teammates from Bavaria in Germany each won the overall results of the Three-track tournament as well as the Krombacher Supercup at Königssee. After his victory at the Krombacher Challenge Cup in Calgary, Hackl only requires one more victory, just as Leitner/Resch, who had won the Krombacher Challenge Cup in Sigulda. In case Hackl as well as Leitner/Resch should both win in Winterberg, the jackpot will be split up. With regard to the women, none of the athletes has chances to hit the jackpot any more.
