Innsbruck (RWH) Claire DelNegro (USA), Sepp Benz from Switzerland and the two Italians Alfred Jud and Josef Ploner received the Medal of Honor in gold of the International Luge Federation (FIL). In recognition of their services the Executive Board members were awarded the medal at the 62nd FIL Congress in Innsbruck (Austria).

Karl Flacher from Austria and Stabislav Hulita (SVK) received the Medal of Honor in silver. The Medal of Honor in Bronze went to Ioan Apostol /ROU), Harald Rolfsen (NOR), Günther Beck (LIE), Markus Aschauer (GER), Gerhard Kirchner, Bruno Kammerlander, Robert Manzenreiter und Peter Heilinger (all AUT).
