Salzburg (pps) At its recent meeting in Salzburg on May 5/6, the Executive Board of the International Luge Federation (FIL) mainly focused on the preparations for the 54th FIL Congress in Berchtesgaden on June 29/30.

Besides, in preparation for the 2006/2007 winter season, decisions on various other issues were made. Among others, the 2006/2007 events schedule artificial track was approved. The highlight of the season will be the World Championships at the Olympic luge track in Innsbruck-Igls from February 2 to 4, 2007. Viessmann World Cups will be held on three continents in the next season.

Eight Viessmann World Cups were approved as follows:

Salt Lake City/USA: December 1/2, 2006
Calgary/CAN: December 8/9, 2006
Nagano/JAP: December 16/17, 2006
Königssee/GER: January 6/7, 2007
Oberhof/GER: January 13/14, 2007
Altenberg/GER: January 20/21, 2007
Winterberg/GER: February 10/11, 2007
Sigulda/LAT: February 17/18, 2007

A decision on a possible ninth Viessmann World Cup at the Olympic luge track in Cesana Pariol, Italy, has not been made yet.
