St. Leonhard near Salzburg (RWH) The now traditional meeting of hosts in the International Luge Federation (FIL) is seen as the ideal information exchange. The event organisers of the Viessmann World Cup will be meeting FIL officers in St. Leonhard near Salzburg on 10 July in preparation for the post-Olympic 2014/2015 winter season.
The meeting will discuss the past Olympic season, will take a look at the forthcoming season, and will consider individual aspects such as transportation or race times.
In the coming season, nine Viessmann World Cups will be held in six countries and on two continents, with the season highlight in Sigulda, Latvia, when the 45th FIL World Championships are held on 14 and 15 February 2015. The Viessmann World Cup will start at the end of November in Innsbruck-Igls (AUT) and then move on to Lake Placid (USA) and Calgary (CAN). After the Christmas break, the athletes will move to Germany with races in Königssee, Oberhof and Winterberg. They then race in Lillehammer (NOR), Altenberg (GER) and Sochi (RUS). The finals on the track that hosted the 2014 Olympic Winter Games will also count as the 46th FIL European Championships
In order to lower costs, the federation’s sister association FIBT will be holding its meeting of bobsleigh and skeleton hosts at the same place on 11 July.
