Numerous National Federations paid visit to FIL President Fendt
Berchtesgaden (pps) During the past few weeks there has been a lot of coming and going at the headquarters of the International Luge Federation, FIL, in Berchtesgaden. Delegations of five National Luge Federations - those of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Slovenia and Austria - paid a visit to FIL President Josef Fendt shortly before the new luge season will kick-off.
Josanu Efim, the newly elected President of the Skiing and Luge Federation of Moldova who was accompanied by his Secretary General Bria Petru and Vice President Gheorghe Catrici, reported on their plans to construct a luge start facility that can be operated in summer and winter in Moldovas’ capital Chisinau. Additionally Efim, a full-time director with Moldova’s TV station, plans the production of a special winter sports TV programme in his country.
Further guests at the FIL headquarters in Berchtesgaden were President Sorin Buta and Secretary General Florian Ticu from Romania’s Luge Federation; Vice Presidents Valery Silakov and Gennady Rodionov of Russia; Friedl Ludescher, President of the Austrian Luge Federation, who was accompanied by Secretary General Reinhard Poller as well as Slovenia’s newly elected President Milan Sirse and Secretary General Ales Omahne.
