Natalie Geisenberger unbeaten in the Viessmann World Cup in Whistler

Whistler (RWH) Olympic Champion Natalie Geisenberger remains unbeaten in the Viessmann World Cup on the Olympic track in Whistler, Canada. The 28-year-old has made it onto the top step of the podium at all previous World Cups staged there. Geisenberger also won the first of her three world titles at the 44th World Championships of the International Luge Federation (FIL). Only at the 2010 Olympics did Geisenberger have to settle for bronze behind her compatriot Tatjana Hüfner and Austrian Nina Reithmayer.
The last time the Viessmann World Cup paid a visit to Canada, the two-time Olympic Champion Felix Loch won the men’s race at the same venue where he had also taken victory at the FIL World Championships in 2011, and at the 2010 Olympics. Loch finished second behind David Möller (GER) at the Olympic test event in 2009. The future Olympic Champions Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt took victory in the doubles in December 2012, before going on to win the World Championship title in 2013. Austrian lugers Andreas Linger/Wolfgang Linger claimed victory at the 2010 Olympic Games and at the Viessmann World Cup in 2011. André Florschütz/Torsten Wustlich won the Olympic test event in 2009.
