Whistler (pps) Latvia’s Inars Kivlenieks is the first Winner of a male luge race at “Whistler Sliding Center”. Kivlenieks won at the finale of Luge World at on the up-coming Olympic track for the Winter Games at Vancouver 2010 the Nations. Setting a new track record in 47.064 seconds he qualified for the men’s World Cup race on Saturday (17.00 hrs local time / 02.00 hrs on Sunday CET).
Second place went to Stefan Höhener (+0.124 seconds) from Switzerland followed by Austria’s Wolfgang Kindl (+0.131). Qualified for the World Cup are Canadians Jeff Christie, Sam Edney and Ian Cockerline as well as Christopher Mazdzer and Tony Benshoof from the USA.
