Nagano (pps) The 4th Viessmann luge World Cup at Nagano (Japan) started with the victories of Latvia’s Maija Tiruma, Viktor Kneib from Russia and Peter Penz/Georg Fischler of Austria in the Nations Cup.
On the Olympic track from 1998 Maija Tiruma won in 51.802 seconds followed by Julia Anashkina (52.134) and Alexandra Rodionova (52.201), who are both of Russia.
In the men’s race Viktor Kneib won in a time of 49.854 seconds. Second place went to Japan’s Shigeaki Ushijima (50.095), third place captured Bengt Walden (50.125) from Sweden.
