Park City (pps) USA’s Ashley Hayden, Jeff Christie from Canada and Matt Mortensen/Garon Thorne are the winners of the Nations Cup in Luge at Park City.
On the track of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Hayden claimed the victory in 44.081 seconds followed by her team-mate Samantha Retrosi (44.133), Latvia’s Anna Orlova (44.211) and USA’s Courtney Zablocki (44.258), who finished 4th at the Olympic Winter Games at Turin 2006. After a break following an injury, Austria’s Nina Reithmayer (44,302) is also qualified for the Viessmann Luge World Cup.
Jeff Christie (45.192) won the men’s race followed by his team-mate Sam Edney (45.345) and Adam Rosen (45,357) from Great Britain.
The doubles race was won by Mortensen/Thorne in 43.717 seconds followed by Latvia’s Andris Sics/Juris Sics (43,748), Germany’s Marcel Lorenz/Christian Baude (43,820) and Austria’s Peter Penz/Georg Fischler (43,911).
