New FIL Executive Board meets in person for the first time

Imst (FIL) On Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24, the new FIL Executive Board, newly elected at the 70th FIL Congress 2022, will meet in person for the first time. The meeting will take place in Imst in Tyrol.

FIL President Einars Fogelis and the new Vice President for Finance Philipp Trattner will report to the Executive Board. 
The Executive Board will discuss the IOC decision on the luge events, quota places and the qualification system for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games. 

In addition, information will be provided on the status of preparations and planning for the Gangwon 2024 Youth Olympic Winter Games in Korea. 

The development program for artificial track and natural track is on the agenda, as well as the admission of further members to the expert commissions. A new working group "Gender Equality" is to be founded and the athletes' prize money for artificial track and natural track in the 2022/23 season will be discussed. The Vice President for Marketing, Thomas Schwab, wants to present a new organizer logo for the EBERSPÄCHER World Cups and the work of the working groups on the FIL strategic plan "SLIDE 2026" will be discussed. 

Up for discussion is also the Congress venue for the 71st FIL Congress in 2023, which should take place in the Ukraine. At the 69th FIL Congress in Salzburg (AUT) in September 2021, the delegates had voted unanimously, with only Russia abstaining, for Lviv (Lemberg), Ukraine, as the 2023 Congress venue.

Imst luge club (RV Imst) celebrates 70th anniversary

On Saturday evening, the members of the FIL-Executive Board will join the Tyroleans in celebrating 70 years of luge history. Former luger Peter Schmid, as long-time chairman of the luge club (RV Imst), will welcome the complete FIL Executive around President Einars Fogelis to the 70th anniversary celebration at the Schützenheim.
