Salzburg (pps) Ioan Apostol will remain responsible for the development program of the International Luge Federation (FIL) for another four years. The FIL Executive Board has now extended the contract with the former successful luge athlete from Romania until the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada.

Ioan Apostol succeeded Günther Lemmerer as development manager in 2002 and is now in charge of implementing the world federation’s extensive program in support of new luge athletes. The latest activities of Ioan Apostol were focused on Asia. In addition, Japenese Olympian Koji Kuriyama has been signed to support Apostol in Asia.
