Nesby / New Zealand (pps) A new luge track is being constructed in New Zealand. With the active support of Josef Ploner, Chairman of the Technical Commission Natural Track, and on the initiative of Geoff Balme, Presidet of the national luge federation of New Zealand, the line of a luge track with artificial refrigeration was laid out in Nesby, a village in the south of New Zealand. In difficult weather conditions and in two days of extremely heavy work, trees were cut and the track was laid out.
The new training facility will be used in order to get artificial as well as natural track athletes from New Zealand and Oceania acquainted with the sport of luge.
