The new season of the FIL Luge World Cup on natural track unfortunately begins with a cancellation. The start of the World Cup in Kühtai (AUT) - planned from December 10th to 13th - is canceled due to lack of snow.

The organizers in Kühtai have to give up. The inversion weather situation with plus degrees, which has persisted for weeks, makes the use of the snow cannons impossible. Due to the lack of precipitation, there is also a lack of natural snow. The track in Kühtai is - in contrast to most other tracks - a temporary track that hast o be built into the ski slope.

"We are currently looking for a solution, we want the double World Cup (World Cup and Eliminator (formerly pursuit) to be rescheduled for another location," says Andreas Castiglioni, Director of Sport and Technology at the FIL. When and where the races will be rescheduled, will be announced as soon as possible.
