Berchtesgaden (RWH) There is no surprise with regard to Germany’s team for the Viessmann Luge World Cup series in the post-Olympic season. Four-time World champion Tatjana Huefner, who claimed a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Sochi, and 36-year-old Anke Wischnewski, who earned a sixth-place finish at the first Winter Games in Russia, are both on the team.
The German team is headed by Olympic gold medal winners Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch and the doubles of Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt. The four lugers not only earned the podium’s top spot in their disciplines but also claimed the Olympic victory at the première of the Team Relay event in Sochi.
Two-time World champion and 2010 Olympic silver medal winner David Moeller, who competed at the 2014 Olympic Games, has ended his active luge career.
