Koenigssee (pps) He is one of the most inspiring personalities on the international luge circuit: Norbert Hahn, who claimed numerous successes in his active luge career and later as a coach, will celebrate his 60th birthday on January 6.

Hahn won the Olympic doubles gold medal together with his partner Hans Rinn in 1976 and 1980. The team also earned the 1977 World Championship title and claimed four European gold medals. After the end of his active career, Hahn became a coach and led his protégés to numerous successes, among others, Stefan Krauße-Jan Behrendt (1992 and 1998 Olympic Champions), Silke Kraushaar-Pielach (1998 Olympic Champion), Tatjana Huefner (2010 Olympic Champion) and David Moeller (Olympic silver medalist in 2010).

Originally, Hahn wanted to take a backseat after the 2010 Olympic Games. But since the start of the season, he is once again part of the staff of coaches for the Viessmann Luge World Cup series within the German Bobsleigh and Sled Sports Federation, BSD.
