Oberhof to host the 2023 FIL World Championships

Ljubljana (RWH): The sliding track in Oberhof is set to host the International Luge Federation's (FIL) 51st World Championships in 2023. The decision was approved by delegates at the international sports association’s 67th Congress in Ljubljana (SLO).

During their presentation, the German track’s delegates announced that they would be making modifications worth around EUR 30 million to the facilities. The event in 2023 will mark the fourth time that the artificial sliding track in the Thuringian Forest has hosted the event following 1973, 1985 and 2008. Oberhof was already selected to host the 2023 Biathlon World Championships last year.
