Sigulda (pps) Italy’s Defending Champions Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber have won the season’s opener in Viessmann luge World Cup at Sigulda (Latvia). While celebrating their fourth World Cup victory they finished in a total time of one minute 27,094 seconds. Seconds place went to Austria’s former World Champions Tobias Schiegl/Markus Schiegl (1:27,164). Germany’s Olympic Champions Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (1:27,174) finished on third place. Sebastian Schmidt/Andre Forker (Deutschland), who were in the lead after the first run, made a mistake in the second one, and fall back on fourth place (1:27,289).
