Olympic bronze medallist Erin Hamlin to head US team

Lake Placid (RWH)  Olympic bronze medallist Erin Hamlin will be heading the US team in the 2016/2017 luge season. The US Luge Association (USLA), which claimed a record total of 18 podium finishes last season, announced in a press release in Lake Placid that it has selected three women, two men and two doubles teams for the coming season.

Hamlin is joined in the women’s singles by Summer Britcher, who won three events last year, and Emily Sweeney. The men’s singles will be raced by Chris Mazdzer, who came third in the overall Viessmann Luge World Cup, and current U23 World Champion Tucker West. The US Association has selected Matthew Mortensen–Jayson Terdiman and Justin Krewson–Andrew Sherk for the doubles.

Next winter’s highlight will be the 47th World Luge Championships organised by the International Luge Federation (FIL) in Innsbruck-Igls (AUT).
