Winterberg (RWH) Olympic Champion Germany is on the verge of winning the overall rankings for the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW. After their fourth victory in four races, the German quartet looks set to defend their title next Sunday (1 February 2015) in the Norwegian town of Lillehammer. The host team of Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch and doubles duo Toni Eggert–Sascha Benecken have now won the team relay in Winterberg, Innsbruck-Igls, Königssee and Oberhof. Austria’s team of Birgit Platzer, Reinhard Egger and doubles team Peter Penz–Georg Fischler were second in Germany’s Hochsauerland region, and Russia’s Ekaterina Baturina, Stepan Fedorov and Alexandr Denisyev–Vladislav Antonov were third. Defending titleholder Germany continues to head the overall rankings with 400 points, followed by the USA with 290 and Russia with 250.
