Berlin (RWH) Tatjana Hüfner of Germany, who took gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics and won four World Championships, recently ruptured her left Achilles tendon and underwent subsequent surgery in Berlin. The 32-year-old, who also collected silver at the 2014 Olympics and bronze at the 2006 Olympics, published the information on her Facebook page. “I’m confident that despite my injury I’ll be ready for action by the start of the season”, she writes. Next season’s Viessmann World Cup opens the weekend of 28¬-29 November in Innsbruck-Igls (AUT). Hüfner, who won World Championship bronze in 2015, suffered the injury while on a training course in Germany’s Kienbaum sports centre just outside Berlin.
