Germany remains undefeated in the Team Relay event in the pre-Olympic season

Sochi (pps) In the pre-Olympic season, Germany remained undefeated in the Viessmann Luge World Cup Team Relay event presented HÖRMANN. At the Olympic test event for the upcoming 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, the black-red-golden quartet in the lineup with Tatjana Huefner, Andi Langenhan and Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt won the sixth and last event of the series at the “Sliding Center Sanki”. One year before the première of the Team Relay event at the Olympic Games the quartets of Russia with Tatiana Ivanova, Albert Demchenko and Vladislav Yuzhakov-Vladislav Makhnutin as well as of Canada with Alex Gough, Sam Edney and Tristan Walker-Justin Snith finished in second and third position, respectively.

Germany’s quartet, that prematurely won the overall Viessmann Luge World Cup Team Relay presented by HÖRMANN thanks to their victory at the fifth event in Lake Placid, earned the maximum possible score of 600 points. Italy (381 points) and U.S.A. (351 points) finished in second and third position, respectively, in the overall rankings.
