Beijing (pps) The torch relay for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver will only take place in Canada. This was announced by the organizers on the occasion of the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing.

„The torch relay will only be in Canada and last 106 days. The torch will be carried over more than 35,000 kilometers throughout Canada. We see this as a way for every Canadian to come face to face with the Games," said John Furlong, the head of the Organizing Committee VANOC.
