Munich (pps) One month after Germany’s Olympic champion Sylke Otto, three-time Olympic champion and silver medalist at the 2005 World Championships Georg Hackl (GER) also underwent surgery on his cervical spine. At Privatdozent Dr. Michael Mayer’s Wirbelsäulenzentrum (spine center) in Munich, a successful intervertebral disc operation was performed on his cervical spine.

Just like Sylke Otto, who was operated on by the same specialist at the end of June, Hackl does not consider his participation in the Olympic Games at risk. Hackl, who has already won five Olympic medals (three gold medals and two silver medals), is striving for his sixth participation in Olympic Winter Games in 2006.
