Umhausen (PMA) Natural track season ended with sixth GRM Group Luge World Cup. Overall World Cup victories went to the title defenders Patrick Pigneter (ITA), Ekaterina Lavrentyeva (RUS) and Patrick Pigneter/Florian Clara (ITA). All three won also the final race of the season at Umhausen. Austrian Team wasn’t able to score a win on their home track “Grantau”. After a good performance at the training and the qualification run Thomas Kammerlander (AUT) was the favourite at the Men’s competition. He finished on second place. Third place went to Italy and Alex Gruber, who secured his second place overall. Ladies race had a big surprise. Behind Evelin Lanthaler young Austrian Maria Auer scored her first World Cup podium. She finished third. Doubles podium was completed by Russian Aleksandr Egorov/Petr Popov on second and Austrian Rupert Brüggler and Tobias Angerer on third position. Egorov/Popov also finished second at the Overall World Cup in front of Austrian Christoph Regensburger and Dominik Holzknecht. Team Event was won by Italy in front of Austria and Russia.
