Lake Placid (pps) Germany’s Olympic champions realized their 22nd victory at the Viessmann Luge World Cup at Lake Placid. Celebrating their second win of the Olympic season in a total of one minute 29,617 seconds the two Bavarian were followed by the Italian doubles Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber (1:29,692) und Gerhard Plankensteiner/Oswald Haselrieder (1:29,726). In the overall standings Leitner/Resch moved with 366 Points up to second place. In the lead are still Oberstolz/Gruber (385). Third place goes to Austria’s Tobias Schiegl/Markus Schiegl (335). Patrick Leitner (GER / Olympic chamüpion) „This is a rsult like a dream for us. Normally we doesn’t like this track. I hope w’ve made a big step to get qualified for the Olympics.” Christian Oberstolz (ITA / defending World Cup champion) „Result is good, but not the two runs. But we are still in the lead in the overall standings.” Gerhard Plankensteiner (ITA) „This i sa very good result for us. Now we go directly to Cesana for training on the Olympic track. Than we drive home for Christmas. And next day we will start at the Italian championships at Cesana.”
