Winterberg (pps). A good start as a base for good runs – that was the formula for the second season’s victory of Italy’s doubles Christian Oberstolz/ Patrick Gruber at Viessmann Luge World Cup in Winterberg (GER).
Patric Gruber (ITA / European Champion doubles 2008)
“We knew that we could be good in Winterberg, but hadn’t expected to win the race. Our good start was the base for two good runs. Of course we are very happy.”
Tobias Schiegl (AUT / World Champion doubles 1996)
“Winterberg is always good for us, it is one of our favourite tracks. The second rank is a little Christmas present for us.”
Patric Leitner (GER, Olympic Champion 2002 and four times World Champion doubles)
“We also would like to know what was essential for the good second run. We were second-fast at start, but something in the runs does not work in the moment. Although we are happier with rank three than with rank nine like in Sigulda.”
