Patt in Men's Sprint: Kevin Fischnaller and Felix Loch take sprint globe, also Taubitz and Steu/Koller with World Cup globe

BMW Sprint World Cup 2021, Men

Innsbruck (FIL) At the BMW Sprint World Cup in Innsbruck-Igls there was variety on the podium. In contrast to the EBERSPÄCHER World Cup the winners were Julia Taubitz (Germany), Semen Pavlichenko (Russia) and Andris and Juris Sics (Latvia). In the classic World Cup disciplines Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch (both Germany) as well as the Italians Ludwig Rieder and Patrick Rastner had won.

After the third and final sprint race, the small crystal globes were also handed over. With the ideal score of 300 points Taubitz shone in the discipline ranking. With her sixth victory of the season ahead of Geisenberger and her teammate Dajana Eitberger, she could still keep the decision in the overall World Cup open. Geisenberger has 780 points, defending champion Taubitz 706.

Winner Sprint Igls 2021, Doubles

Kevin Fischnaller was very happy. Due to his second place at the BMW Sprint World Cup in Igls, the South Tyrolean had collected 225 points. Felix Loch, who has already been determined as the overall World Cup winner, has just as many after his third place. "It's brutally cool to have won the crystal globe. And to be able to keep up with Felix Loch, the dominator, is really sensational," cheered the 27-year-old, who has only been able to win one World Cup race so far. "The sprint is really good for me because the start is gone," he explained.

Steu / Koller, BMW Sprint overall winner

The BMW Sprint ranking in doubles was won by the Austrian duo of Thomas Steu and Lorenz Koller with 270 points. The leaders in the overall standings took second place in Igls. Second in the sprint standings were the day's winners Sics/Sics, who have 231 points. "Tremendous, I can't even put it into words, have to let it sink in," said front-running Steu, "brilliant that we got the hook under before the World Cup."
