Peak Performance in Cold and Ice: Eberspächer and FIL – A Partnership Built to Last
Berchtesgaden/Esslingen, October 2026 – Eberspächer has been an active partner of the Fédération Internationale de Luge (FIL) since 2001. In 2020, the company became the title sponsor of the FIL World Cup. What began as a collaboration has grown into a commitment to a sport that has more in common with Eberspächer than might first appear.
Luge is the fastest sport on ice. Athletes reach speeds of over 150 kilometers per hour – lying on their backs, guided by physical tension and split-second decisions. Every run is an act of precision under extreme conditions. Eberspächer products follow the same logic: they keep vehicles warm when temperatures drop outside, and ensure that systems perform reliably under maximum load. Temperature and performance – that is the shared terrain of both partners.
"When a luger maintains control at minus ten degrees and 150 kilometers per hour, they are trusting their preparation, their equipment and the people behind it. Eberspächer has been at our side since 2001 – as a partner who holds the same standard of precision and reliability as our sport. And as a family-owned company that has known since 1865 that quality takes no shortcuts," says FIL President Einars Fogelis.
"Long-standing partnerships create trust and provide stability, especially in challenging times. This reflects our understanding as a family business and has connected us with luge for many years. Reliability, precision and the pursuit of peak performance are at the heart of everything we do," says Martin Peters, Managing Partner of the Eberspächer Group.
The 2026/27 Season
The new season gets underway at the end of November, with ten events across seven countries. There is no shortage of highlights. The World Championships in Innsbruck-Igls will deliver the first-ever combined World Championship for artificial track and alpine luge. The Super Slide Mode makes its debut as a new competition format in Oberhof. And the grand finale takes place in Königssee – the Eberspächer Luge World Cup is more alive than ever.
Eberspächer is part of it all. Since 2001.
